UNIQLO (Phase II)
UNIQLO is Japan's leading retailer
of affordable, well-made, casual clothing.
When UNIQLO launched in the UK they required a solid foundation
for their operation and sought advice from a leading specialist
Retail and Supply Chain consultancy, Itim, to develop a 'greenfield'
solution for EPOS and store systems, credit card transaction solutions
and a data network to support the applications.
TFM Networks recommended a fully managed Tiscali MPLS IPVPN solution
to connect all the stores and run the EPOS and credit card transaction
traffic.
'The new system has not only dramatically reduced
our costs by nearly 90% per store per year but has also enabled
a much faster transaction time. In addition, we now have full visibility
and understanding of costs ' Mark Bulmer, UNIQLO

UNIQLO (Phase I)
UNIQLO is Japan's leading retailer
of affordable, well-made, casual clothing.
After UNIQLO opened
their first stores in England, they realised their network cost
base of ISDN links to stores and an international leased line to
Japan was not sustainable. They asked TFM to find new and innovative
ways of solving the problems namely, to design a solution to reduce
costs and give greater certainty with regard to variable call charges.
TFM rose to the challenge. The MPLS IP VPN solution provided broadband
access circuits saving UNIQLO over 30% whilst doubling the throughput
of existing ISDN lines. Because there are no call charges, UNIQLO
now have a complete understanding of their costs.
'TFM act
as an extension of UNIQLO which means they spend more time getting
it right.' Mark Bulmer, UNIQLO

The Alan Day Motor Group
The Alan Day Motor Group is a car dealership business.
A review of their data network showed they needed to:
| • |
reduce fixed costs for connections |
| • |
update infrastructure that supported
their stock control and POS systems |
| • |
future-proof their network |
TFM help the Alan Day Motor group save 70%
annually on their networking costs and provide a more efficient network for managing
their stock control systems and for gaining faster access to their POS systems.
TFM introduced a new network to replace the existing structure of leased lines
and deployed a Tiscali IPVPN and migration plan to upgrade the dealership control
costs.
Sites now benefit from cost effective broadband.
'Outside our cost
savings, we are more efficient as a business, giving us the ability to serve
our customers at a superior level to many of our competitors.' Ilyas
Master - IT
Manager.

Harrods
Harrods remains London's premier retail outlet, at the forefront
of changing trends.
Harrods wanted to work with a company that offered a robust
and flexible digital signage solution to meet current and future requirements.
TFM's media partner, Remote Media provides exactly that - audio, visual
and interactive solutions to companies wishing to communicate in an innovative
and dynamic way.
Harrods appointed Remote Media as exclusive providers of Digital
Signage throughout the store. This comprises Remote Media Player, Remote Media
Distributor, Remote Media Playlist Creator and Remote Media Video Distribution,
all of which enhance the customer experience in store.
'Harrods ethic of
selling quality merchandise and giving customers exemplary
service, is underlined by Remote Media's innovative
and evolutionary offering.' Marketing Manager,
Harrods

Anglia Regional Co-Operative Society Limited (ARCS)
Anglia is a co-operative
society selling over £300m of goods through over 100 stores.
To improve
customer experience, ARCS wanted to:
| • |
enhance their EPOS network to incorporate
investments in Chip and PIN technology |
| • |
manage credit card transactions from
a centralised date point |
TFM's solution was deployed throughout the entire
network with limited investment. It comprised a Tiscali IPVPN across the business
and provided some stores with ISDN backup capability.
ARCS have centralised credit
card transactions - EFT transactions from stores are now routed through
the TFM data centre.
Network and operation costs are reduced and customer satisfaction
improved. Fixed costs of DSL connections give ARCS better control over costs
and faster transaction times reducing queuing time at tills.
'With the
Tiscali IPVPN we have saved 30% annually on networking costs. We can offer instore
benefits to customers and give a competitive advantage to ARCS.' Mark Kelby,
ARCS

Thomson
TUI UK is the UK's largest holiday company and includes the leading
brands of Thomson Holidays and Thomson.
Thomson, aware of the benefits of Digital
Signage, wanted to update content easily with a minimum of investment.
TFM's
media partner, Remote Media suggested featuring Thomson's travel-related
content together with non-competing third-party advertising.
Thomson has rolled
out a 100 site Digital Poster Network. Now they benefit from Digital Signage
as well as generate income.
Because their top 100 stores have a large captive
audience, they can charge advertisers a premium rate to advertise their products
on their network. A percentage of air time goes to the site owner (Thomson) and
the remainder is sold to advertisers.
'The income generated should more
than cover the cost of the Digital Poster Network and bring in extra income each
month.' Doug Glenwright, Marketing manager

ARCS
Anglia Regional Co-op (ARCS) needed to integrate a number of disparate networks.
They wanted a single approach that would enable instore services to develop regardless
of the underpinning technology. The existing mix of dial up, ISDN leased lines
made providing consistent service levels problematic.
TFM offered a private Internet
solution. This reduced ARCS' costs and provided them with extra security.
By implementing business grade, fixed costs broadband connections, they were
able to increase access, improve service and reduce costs by over 30%.
The VPN
solution gives them a common network platform capable of enabling future applications
such as streaming video and real-time stock management across the group.
'TFM
make it easy for us by owning the whole problem, not just one bit of it.' Mark
Kelby, ARCS

H&M
H&M markets clothes and cosmetics in over 1,000 stores worldwide.
H&M reviewed their network infrastructure and required:
| • |
a national store and stock management
system |
| • |
a real time and reliable transaction
system for EPOS Chip and PIN |
| • |
a VOIP solution that could leverage
investment of equipment |
TFM delivered a cost effective Tiscali IPVPN solution across the business. Sites
requiring a high volume of data use LES circuits and leased lines. All stores
benefit from cost effective broadband.
H&M enjoys reduced costs, faster transaction
times and an improved customer experience.
'TFM's solution not only
resolved our immediate networking requirements, but elevated H&M into a position
where we could build for the future.' Steve Budden,
H&M
